What is Tango?

Tango is a style of music and dance that originated in Argentina and Uruguay around the mid 19th century. Tango music typically features the violin, piano, bass, bandoneon, and other string instruments. This style of music was created by immigrants who came to Buenos Aires and who also developed the sensual dance style named after the music genre.

Texas Tech University is home to many talented musicians who practice and perform tango music for the Lubbock community.
